Radiesse Before and After Photos
Like Juvederm and Restylane, Radiesse™ is a dermal filler that restores volume and fullness. It is made of a naturally occurring protein in the body and is FDA approved for correcting facial wrinkles. Unlike hyaluronic acid, Radiesse is classified as a semi-permanent filler lasting up to 2 years. It stimulates the body to produce new collagen allowing for a very natural result that improves over time. Full effects take 2-4 weeks to see. This long lasting filler is particularly beneficial when patients need a lot of volume. The gel is thicker than temporary fillers and requires a special technique to avoid feeling or seeing nodules beneath the skin or migration where the filler moves away from the injection site. Dr. Peters and his staff are experienced in both the technique and application of Radiesse.
When is Radiesse the filler of choice?
- Hollow cheeks and temples
- Jaw or cheek lift
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Depressions that appear as under eye bags
- Plumping deep wrinkles and folds
Tidbit:
Fillers can be used alone, but are often recommended to improve the overall result of facial rejuvenation surgery. Cosmetic fillers and surgery are very distinct procedures. Surgery is indicated when the patient needs “lift.” Fillers are prescribed when the patient needs volume. Contrary to popular belief, surgery does not always correct wrinkles—that is when fillers can be used .
